Galician 19th century music rediscovered by Carlos in old archives and recorded with his band and the late Mícheál Ó Domhnaill, his sister Tríona (both ex Bothy Band, Nightnoise), the late Derek Bell and Paddy Moloney (The Chieftains).
Amanecer headlined Carlos’s first album in 1996 that went platinum in Spain creating an unheard of Celtic Music. It became extremely popular, a favorite to this day representing Galicia and Celtic Music in the media. It was subsequently recorded by other artists as well, such as James Galway.
That 1st album was a result of the many experiences Carlos lived in those years touring the world with The Chieftains.
And it’s certainly worked the other way around too, with Carlos hosting The Chieftains in Galicia.
