Carlos’s father and grandfather were imprisoned for fighting against Franco’s dictatorship. This version of Christy Moore’s song about the Irish fighting in the Spanish Civil war is a tribute to them. It is sung by Liam Ó Maonlaí and produced by John Reynolds. It includes a Galician Pasodoble that to Carlos sounded as reminiscent of those years of war. He even went to record Taraf de Caransebes in Romania looking for that old Brass Band sound.
