This song is a rumba; a rythm derived from Latin America which has been adapted and used for southern flamenco music, and equally for the pipe music of the north. In this track, Carlos fused together these two unique branches of music into one united sound. The success came from a team effort including composition by Manuel Malou and vocals by Carmen Linares. Joining in are Sharon Shannon on the accordion, Arty MacGlynn with the guitar and Kevin Conneff on the bodhran.
This track comes from Núñez’s second CD “Os Amores Libres”, in which he explored the connections between Celtic music and flamenco. It was nominated for a Latin Grammy.
